Due to continual orders from North American regions, solar cell makers’ capacity utilization rate has increased in January. Additionally, the end of holiday vacations brings more price inquiries from European clients, increasing trading activity on the market.
Benefiting from the rush orders from clients in Europe and the United States, Taiwanese solar cell makers’ utilization rates increased evidently, which will affect the future development of contract and spot prices.

2009/11/27-----Started from mid-July, DDR2 1Gb eTT spot price has skyrocketed 150% to US$2.62 from US$1.05. However, the spot market start to fall at 11/10 that DDR2 1Gb has sharply shrunk 15% to US$2.22 from US$2.62 in two weeks after four month upward pricing trend. According to DRAMeXchange.
Taipei, November 25, 2008 --- According to DRAMeXchange, last week (11/18-11/24), DDR2 spot chip price hit historical low with DDR2 1Gb eTT price drop from USD 0.87 to USD 0.81, with a range of 6.9% and a 33.6% drop from the beginning of the Q4. DDR2 667 MHz 1Gb price dropped from USD 0.86 to USD 0.77, with a range of 10.5%, and 36.8% from the beginning of Q4.
Taipei, October 22, 2008 --- DRAM DDR2 1Gb 667MHz spot price fell nearly 50% from a high of US$2.29 on May 6’th to US$1.13 on Oct. 17’th. On Sep.30th, price fell 7% in a single day from US$1.37 to US$1.28. DRAM spot price fell below US$1.5, the average cash cost of most DRAM makers back in Sep. 6’th.
Taipei, October 1, 2008 --- DRAM makers such as PSC, Elpida, and Hynix have separately announced production cutbacks on September 8th , 9th , and 18th. If the cutbacks proceed as scheduled, we expect to see a reduction in worldwide DRAM production by 5 to 6% around end of October to November.
