DRAMeXchange - 1H2010 SSD compared and analyzed

Mar 11th,2010----A total of 40 SSD products were listed in the evaluation, mostly MLC SSDs with capacities of 64GB and 128GB. In the evaluation, DRAMeXchane compared the differences between SLC NAND Flash and MLC SSD, as well as the differences between SSD controllers.

DRAMeXchange: Mobile DRAM demand bit growth will increase 71% in 2010

Mar. 8th 2010-------According to DRAMeXchange, global cellular phone shipment is expected to grow 10.5% YoY to 1.61B units in 2010 from 1.45B units in 2009 given the strong demand from smartphone. We also forecast smartphone shipment will be up 28.6% YoY to 220M units in 2010 from 170M units in 2009.

 

4Q09 and 2009 Sales Ranking of Branded NAND Flash IC Makers

Feb 1st,2010-----As most branded NAND Flash suppliers benefited from the stable 4Q09 hot-season restock orders for electronic system maker clients, NAND Flash ASP slightly rose about 5% QoQ in 4Q09. Total branded NAND Flash bit shipment increased about 10% QoQ and it resulted in the overall branded NAND Flash makers' revenue sustained to improve in 4Q09.

With the windows 7 launch in end of Oct. and recovering macro-economy, demand in 4Q09 has outperformed our expectation.

DRAMeXchange: iPad stimulates demand of NAND Flash

DRAMeXchange: Hot PC growth, Component shortage and Tight Packaging and Testing in 2010

2010/1/4--------According to DRAMeXchange, given the outperformed PC sales in Thanksgiving & Christmas, recovering global economy and new launch Windows 7, PC shipment indicates the satisfactory figures that we have adjusted 4Q09 NB shipment QoQ from 8.7% to 11.9% while 2009 overall NB shipment will be up 23.5% YoY to 160M units.

DRAMeXchange: Expected Shortage on DRAM in 2H10

2009/12/24--------With the recovering PC shipment at 2009, DRAM shortage had accelerated since August and reach at the peak in October. Some PC-OEMs even spent US$55, 1Gb for US$3.25 equivalent, for DDR2/2GB module from module houses at spot market.
