WitsView: Large-sized panel shipments falls by 8.2% MoM in Jan11 as traditional hot selling season draws to a close

According to the latest surveys conducted by WitsView, a subsidiary of Trendforce, large-sized panel shipments fell by 8.2% MoM to 52.23 million units in Jan11. As the year-end hot selling season drew to a close, the arrival of the traditional weak seasonality prompted downstream clients to reduce their panel procurement.

WitsView: In 1Q10, despite lower-than-expected decline of material costs, panel makers’ profitability will improve substantially

Based on the past experience, the first quarter is a time of traditionally slow season for the panel industry, as well as a time of the most dramatic price decline in component prices. However, market conditions are quite different this quarter.

WitsView:本季材料成本降幅雖不如預期,但面板廠獲利仍將出現明顯改善

依照過去經驗,第一季屬於面板產業傳統的需求淡季,也成為相關零組件價格下滑最劇烈的一個季度。然而本季的情況卻有很大的不同。WitsView研究經理邱宇彬表示,訂單的減少與利潤的下滑不但是引發面板廠要求材料廠商降價的兩大動機,同時也成為其議價時最有利的後盾。然而目前淡季不淡的需求讓面板出貨量一直在高檔盤旋,而呈現漲勢的面板價格更讓面板廠的獲利不降反升,兩者皆大幅地削弱了面板廠的要價氣勢,也間接影響到材料廠商配合降價的意願。除此之外,新奇美成軍後所造成的供應鏈洗牌效應也尚未發酵,零組件廠商彼此間降價搶單的情況並不多見,也讓1Q10整體材料成本下滑的情況不若以往。

The demand of LED package for TVs reaches 9.36 billion units YOY450%

Feb 3rd ,2010------In early 2009, after Samsung invested a large budget in promoting the new concept of LED TV, the market witnessed a surge in the replacement of new generation television. According to LEDinside’s latest market trend report, the total shipment of LED-backlit TVs in 2009 was about 3.5 million sets.

LEDinside: 今年電視用LED背光封裝數量達93.6億個 年增率450%

Feb 3rd ,2010-----隨著越來越多的電視大廠加入戰爭, 2010年計畫中的LED背光電視出貨量將到達3900萬台,其中韓系與日系廠商分佔4成與3成;另一方面,就LED封裝數來推算,研究機構LEDinside預估,今年的需求約93.6億個,年增率高達450%;而在韓系與日系分別握有供需主導權,即LED關鍵組件的供給及品牌出海口需求的雙重壓力下,預計對台系LED封裝廠商的出貨成長將造成不小威脅及挑戰。
去年初Samsung砸下大筆預算推廣LED TV新概念後,市場掀起一陣新世代電視的換機熱潮。根據LEDinside最新推出的LED背光市場趨勢報告指出,去年LED背光電視總出貨約350萬台,其中Samsung出貨超過七成位居冠軍寶座,其次為Sharp與LG;值得注意的是,在第一波LED背光電視的戰爭當中,兩家韓國廠商總出貨比例高達8成。

4Q09 and 2009 Sales Ranking of Branded NAND Flash IC Makers

Feb 1st,2010-----As most branded NAND Flash suppliers benefited from the stable 4Q09 hot-season restock orders for electronic system maker clients, NAND Flash ASP slightly rose about 5% QoQ in 4Q09. Total branded NAND Flash bit shipment increased about 10% QoQ and it resulted in the overall branded NAND Flash makers' revenue sustained to improve in 4Q09.

Feb 1st,2010------研究機構集邦科技表示,多數NAND Flash品牌供應商受惠於電子系統客戶去年第四季旺季庫存回補的訂單,第四季NAND Flash平均銷售價格(ASP)較第三季小漲約5%,整體NAND Flash位元出貨量季增約10%,因此去年第四季NAND Flash品牌廠商營收都較第三季成長,去年第四季全球NAND Flash品牌廠商整體營收為38億8千1百萬美元,較上一季的33億5千5百萬美元成長15.7%。

DRAMeXchange: WW DRAM Revenue increase 42% in 4Q09

Jan 29th,2010------According to DRAMeXchange, 4Q09 revenue has grown 42% due to the hiking DRAM average price and output enhancement, which has shown another progress after 40% revenue growth 3Q09. With the windows 7 launch in end of Oct. and recovering macro-economy, demand in 4Q09 has outperformed our expectation.

集邦:全球DRAM產業營收2009第四季營收上揚42%

Jan 29th,2010-----根據集邦科技調查,全球DRAM產業營收在2009年第三季漲幅超過40%後,第四季營收漲幅在DRAM均價大幅上漲及DRAM廠產出持續增加下,上揚42%。在10月底Windown 7推出及經濟景氣回温,第四季旺季需求比預期中好,由於電腦系統廠在第四季仍以DDR2機種為主力,加上中低價位機種接單狀況佳,使得DDR2需求較DDR3強勁,甚至嚴重短缺。DDR2合約均價在10月、11月持續攀高,並在12月價格維持高檔,根據集邦科技公布價格, DDR2合約季均價在第四季大幅成長61%、現貨均價亦大漲68%。

Therefore, whenever Apple launches new products, the popularity of the new device may bring forth a capacity crunch to the NAND flash market.
